Those were the first three sentences on the home page of a website I was maintaining for Jukniewicz.com about twenty years ago on a web server running in my house. At that time, sometime in 2005, I also noted...

I created this page (a long, long, time ago in a galaxy far, far, away) and others mainly as exercises in web design and as a means of introducing myself. While I don't plan on going into my "life story", I figured I'd write a little bit about myself, my work, and some of my many interests.

While it wasn't overly complicated to run and maintain a web server and the web pages it served, there were some limitations as well as technical and security concerns. At some point, I believe in 2007 or 2008, I abandoned that project. Those that are technically savvy may be able to find some versions of the old site on the Internet - because, as you know, the Internet is forever. Perhaps, in a future update, I'll include an archived version of it somewhere for reference and comparison.

With 2025 quickly coming to a close, it was only over the last couple of weeks that I considered the possibility of resurrecting Jukniewicz.com in some form but embracing modern technology. After reviewing several options, I decided on a platform and came up with what you see here. While my current goals for this site are similar to those of the old one, perhaps it will also serve as a home site for others in our family - or as a portal to other sites that they may be maintaining or contributing to.

Times have certainly changed. A lot can happen in twenty years and I'm sure we all have stories to tell. That said, rather than get into any long-winded stories about what I've been up to over the last twenty years, perhaps I'll leave it here for now and provide updates as time goes on. Until then, here we are.
